Tulsa Musicians | Tiffany Howig | “Dream a Little Dream of Me” Cover
Taking it old school, one of the best Tulsa musicians, Tiffany Howig has released a new cover of “Dream a Little Dream of Me” by Doris Day.
It is not frequently that the rising generation of musicians will eagerly cover songs by Doris Day and Louis Armstrong, but that is exactly Tiffany Howig. An old soul at heart, Howig thoroughly enjoys playing vinyl records and covering old music.
This particular version of “Dream a Little Dream of Me” Howig covers on the ukulele. This adds a uniqueness that most Tulsa musicians look for in creating their own arrangement and sound for popular songs.
For those that are unfamiliar with Doris Day, her rise to popularity came in 1945 with her first hit “Sentimental Journey.” “Dream little Dream of Me” recorded by Doris Day also was recorded by other famous artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, and The Mama’s & the Papa’s.
Howig’s version of the song was recorded in one the main studios at Madness Media. The singer/songwriter elected for a black and white video production of the song to further add to the vintage feel of the song.
Tulsa Musicians | Songwriter Tiffany Howig
Covering songs isn’t all that Howig does. She currently writes all of her own music and is abroad in Spain working on developing tracks for an original EP to be recorded this summer. Developing a unique sound and genre is important for all Tulsa musicians and is frequently one of the most challenging parts of the songwriting process.
